Now You Can Automatically Silence your Call from Unknown Numbers on WhatsApp

WhatsApp has recently introduced a groundbreaking feature that enables users to automatically mute calls from unfamiliar numbers. This addition comes as a response to the growing prevalence of spam calls, which have been a cause of concern for users in India, where the app boasts an extensive user base of over 500 million individuals.

During a recent announcement made by Mark Zuckerberg, the call muting feature was unveiled in conjunction with a new privacy checkup option, emphasizing the significance of privacy and control for WhatsApp's user community. This innovative feature aims to enhance user privacy by silencing incoming calls from unknown contacts.

To activate this functionality, users can navigate to the Settings menu, select Privacy, then proceed to Calls, and finally enable the "Silence unknown caller" option. Despite silencing the calls, the app will still display notifications and maintain call records from unidentified numbers. This feature allows users to review such calls at a later time if necessary, particularly if they suspect the call may be from someone they know but haven't saved their number in their contacts.
